The venue

 

• A new wine bar and bottle shop in Brixton, situated just off the buzzy Coldharbour Lane and minutes from Brixton Market, serving quality drinks with a focus on low-intervention wines from small producers, plus a simple food menu based around cheese and charcuterie.

 

The job

 

We are seeking a Wine Apprentice to join our team.

 

• Reporting to the General Manager, you will be a key part of our team from day one, assisting with all aspects of the business including but not limited to:

  • Serving wine by the glass and bottle

  • Advising customers on drink and food choices

  • Preparing and serving cheese and charcuterie platters and snacks

  • Cleaning and maintaining a tidy, attractive and organised space

 

The person

 

• Friendly, passionate, hard-working, punctual and willing to learn 

• Keen to get stuck in from day one as we embark on the exciting and challenging process of launching our new venue

• Great with customers and calm under pressure, able to work in a busy environment and maintain a cool head

• Prior wine knowledge not required but a desire to learn about wine and food is essential

 

The pay and perks

 

• £13 per hour, plus a share of tips split equally among staff based on hours worked (combined typically £17 per hour)

• 20% staff discount

• Regular invites to trade tastings and staff evenings.

• You will be immersed in the world of food and wine, garnering a solid knowledge of your products and the industry, including the potential for WSET training.
